Performance in Research

As regards research, the Pelé Pequeno Príncipe Institute – Research on the Health of Children and Adolescents – the Complex focuses its efforts in the investigation of complex illnesses which nowadays present limitations in the diagnosis and/or treatment, and are of greater incidence in Brazil.

The Research Institute, whose mission is to increase the cure percentage of children and adolescents, works hard to become one of the South American leaders in the generation of knowledge, products and procedures by means of scientific research on pediatrics.

The studies developed by the Pelé Pequeno Príncipe Institute are of laboratory and clinical nature, always aiming at the direct application of its results, procedures or products and encompass areas such as molecular genetics, cellular biology with a focus on stem cells, proteome technology besides more specific branches of each pediatric area.
